Add the hashtags:

3 - Follow-up with your doctors and healthcare professionals
Follow-up with your implanting surgeon, explanting surgeon, and other healthcare professionals. Let them know how your health has changed and tell them specifically what symptoms have been relieved and which still remain. Write a letter or an email that states your health has changed and tell them specifically what symptoms. This update should be placed in your medical chart. It is our patient responsibility to update our doctors on changes in our health. You can also attach some of these documents and articles so that your doctors are aware of the recent events involving breast implant safety.

4 - Share your experience on social media
One of the easiest ways to raise awareness is to post on social media such as Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. Sharing your personal experience with breast implants publically is not always easy, however, you might be able to help another woman that might be suffering. When posting publicly, consider adding the following hashtags:
#breastimplantillness
#notourdaughters
#untilthereisadiagnonsis
#biaalcl
(if you are a diagnosed patient)

5 - File a report to the FDA’s MedWatch Program or update an existing report

The FDA needs to hear from you. Currently, it is not mandatory that doctors report adverse events. File a report of a problem with a medical device with the FDA's MedWatch program or call to update an existing report. If you already filed a report, call MedWatch to update your existing report with changes in your symptoms.

6 - Gather with local patients/breasties
Support is so important! Communicate with local women and set up a time to gather and post pictures on social media if possible. If you can’t physically meet up, see if you can have a phone call with another woman needing support. Many states have local support groups. Need a group? Breast Implant Victim Advocacy has compiled a great list of online support groups. Can’t find a local group? Consider starting one!

Post your picture and add the hashtags:
#breastimplantillness
#notourdaughters
#untilthereisadiagnonsis
#biaalcl
(if you are a diagnosed patient)

7 - Volunteer your time, products or services
Many of the support groups and various organizations need support. How can you help? How do you think you can best support the cause? Consider volunteering or donating to a breast implant-related support group or organization. Our BISA Nonprofit needs support to achieve our goals of raising awareness and changing laws and regulations. Here is a simple survey with a variety of ideas and options. Please consider filling out this survey and sharing it if possible. It is going to take collaboration and dedication to achieve these goals and help patients globally.
